3 Easy Crafts for Kids

May 28, 2018

It has rained every day for almost two weeks now! We still have at least a week of rain in the forecast and a tropical storm coming through this afternoon. Our Memorial Day holiday has been a muggy, wet one. Cabin fever has set in! So, I found some easy crafts for kids that I would love to share with you!

Stained-Glass Craft

What you need:

  • Picture Frame
  • Glue
  • Food coloring
  • Toothpicks

Take the cardboard part of the picture frame out and toss it.
Wipe down the glass and secure it back in the picture frame with the metal tongs.
Squirt squiggles of glue all over the glass.
Add a few drops of food coloring.
Spread the food coloring with a toothpick.

*TIP*  Less is more with the food coloring. Originally I added many many drops and it turned into a big blob. I washed the glass off and we started over. This time, I only used about 7 drops of food coloring.

Mom of WAR- 3 Easy Crafts For Kids

Canvas Painting Craft

We all loved this craft!

What you need:

  • Canvas
  • Paint (or fingers!)
  • Paint brush
  • Masking tape

Use the masking tape to create a design on the canvas. The boys chose their names! The boys spent about 30 minutes painting different colors all over the canvas (and over the tape). Once it dries, pull the tape off and there’s a super cool picture created!

Super Hero Hand Print Craft

For this craft, Wesley chose Captain America and a Ninja Turtle. William chose Spider Man and Batman. All they needed to do for this craft was provide their hand prints! After they dried, I added the details to make them look like superheroes. They absolutely loved the finished product!

What you need:

  • Paper- Any paper will work. I spiced it up a bit and used card stock on top of construction paper. I let the construction paper match the hand print.
  • Paint
  • Paint brushes

We had majority of the items needed for these crafts at the house, and the items we bought were inexpensive.

These crafts were fun for all of us and they offered quality time with my boys!

I’m all about the crafts especially on stay at home days. These crafts look totally cool and doable! I’m thinking of decorating the boys room and may just have to try these and see if they will end up decoration worthy. Either way I know the kids will have fun and they can get up on the art wall for a few weeks.

How much fun! We used the superhero hand prints as decoration for inside the boys rooms and the canvas with their names on them are on the doors to their rooms!
