Mamas, Check-In!

June 1, 2020

Gosh… so much has been going on lately. A mother’s life is chaotic enough most days, and the past three months have added an insane amount of outside chaos. So, I’m calling out to you mamas, check-in!

I’m going to tell you what has been going on with me, and I want you guys to tell me what has been going on with you! No one understands what a mom is going through better than another mom. It’s so important that we support one another. Any venting you need to do is absolutely acceptable.

Please note, I’m going to leave personal opinions regarding the world’s events out of my post. Not because I don’t have opinions about them, but because I don’t want this to turn into a debate about what’s going on around us. This post is meant to be about you. About us as moms. Let’s discover how our fellow moms are doing in their own lives and how we can support them, even if it’s just by listening.

Mom of W.A.R. Check-In

The past three months have been a bit of a whirlwind for me. Although I am not an essential worker, I was required to come into work. Don’t get me wrong, I am super thankful for having a job during this time. BUT, my kids were out of school, and I had to teach them. Working, completing my own school work, and teaching them was nothing short of a struggle.

I am no rule breaker. Every assignment, every video, we completed. Still, I feel like I shorted them. I’m a smart cookie, but I’m not an elementary teacher. I know they would have learned and grown so much more being in school, and that has really messed with me! They were finishing Kindergarten and 1st grade… I feel like foundation is being laid for them, and I’m not sure how reliable what I taught them is!

That’s been my largest struggle. THANK GOODNESS for summer break.

My sleep has taken a hard hit. I’m usually an amazing sleeper, but over the past few months I’ve found myself waking up in the middle of the night… mostly because I have to pee… and not being able to go back to sleep because my mind is turning. Not about anything important but about simple to-do list tasks and things of the sort.

What I’ve Enjoyed + Worries

Although, I’ve been at work the same amount as always, I’ve enjoyed having everyone else at home more and spending more time at home rather than being out and about.

I have not enjoyed the never ending pile of dishes in my sink because of it.

I do fear what the fall and winter brings. Will there be a repeat? What does that mean for us working moms? What does that mean for my kiddos education? These are all thoughts I dwell on.

Mom of WAR- Mamas, Check-In!

It’s your turn mama. I want to know what’s going on with you. How have you been over the past few months?

What struggles have you had and which have you been able to overcome? What have you been feeling?

Do you have any tips or advice for others?

Mamas, check-in! Let’s talk about whatever it is you need to talk about!

I know you could use some tips for keeping your house clean while everyone is at home.

I think mom’s should have a community of their own. Especially in the times that we are in

My oldest son’s school is in session still for another 2 weeks, It was definitely a struggle to adjust at first, but thankfully we found what works for us and we’re definitely enjoying the extra family time especially now if the weather’s nice and we could be outside more!
