10 Budget-Friendly Spring Break Ideas for the Family

Spring break is right around the corner. Can you believe it? Wasn't it just New Years? Plan ahead, so you and your family can make the most of your time. To help, here are some budget-friendly spring break ideas that will keep you from breaking the bank!

Budget-Friendly Spring Break Ideas for the Family

1. Get Outside

Enjoy some vitamin D and fresh air with your family! Play games outside, visit a park, grill out, have a picnic, or whatever else your family enjoys doing together outdoors.

2. Take a Day Trip

Get out of town for the day and do something fun! We live an hour and a half from the beach, so that's where we take most of our day trips.

Other good ideas are attractions like an aquarium, amusement park (indoor or outdoor), or zoo. Also check calendars for spring festivals that may be going on.

3. See a Matinee

Go see a family movie! Going to matinees typically costs less and the crowds are smaller.

4. Visit a Museum

Find a museum in your city or nearby. Plan to spend several hours and get involved in any exhibits or special events they have going on.

5. Plant Flowers

Spring is a great time to add some color to your yard or home. Spend an afternoon choosing your favorite flowers and planting them as a family.

6. Sign Up For Camp

Businesses tend to offer day camps when kids on are break from school.

Check churches, trampoline parks, skating rinks, museums, and city recreational parks to find out your options.

7. Craft

Do your kids love crafts as much as mine? Plan some new crafts that you guys can do together.

We had a lot of fun painting with cars and making drop cloth curtains!

8. Family Movie Night

Who doesn't love a good movie night? They are easy, don't take a lot of energy, and are fun for the whole fam.

Pop some popcorn, or kettle corn if you prefer like I do, get comfy clothes and blankets, and enjoy a movie as a family.

9. Indoor Camping

In my experience, kids love this! We've actually moved all of our living room furniture and pitched our 8 person camping tent in the living room before.

Any size tent will do, or make a tent with chairs and a sheet. Don't forget to make s'mores in the microwave or eat them cold.

10. Family Game Night

Grab one game or plan for several. Whether it's a classic board game or a newer game, family game night is an excellent way to have some light-hearted fun with your family.

I hope you found these budget-friendly spring break ideas for your family to be useful! It doesn't really matter how you do it, spending quality time as a family is what matters most. Enjoy your family and enjoy your spring break!
