My Favorite Black Leggings
I practically live in leggings… and no, I’m not exaggerating. After years of leggings being my normal attire, I’ve narrowed down my favorite black leggings to just six pairs.
I personally recommend all of these!
Spanx 2. HeyNuts 3. Ewedoos 4. Aerie 5. Colorfulkoala 6. The Gym People
Spanx
These faux leather Spanx are my all time faves!
They do the absolute best at slimming and shaping. I love the faux leather look, but they are not stiff… in fact, they are the stretchiest! These bad boys have a powerful hold. I’ve worn the same pair for four years now, and they are still like new!
The Spanx are the most expensive pair, at around $100. They are absolutely worth the splurge though! I’ve worn these with tennis shoes, converse, and even dressed them up with heels or wedges!
2. HeyNuts
HeyNuts are advertised as buttery soft, and they truly are. I’m a huge fan of the ones with the pockets, but they offer both styles. I also perfer the 7/8 length or full length leggings, but they also have crop!
HeyNuts are true to size, and offer decent support. They compress just the right amount, meaning they aren’t too tight but they smooth and sculpt. It is also important for me that leggings stay in place, and these do!
The price point for HeyNuts is typically around $25 - $30.
3. Ewedoos
Ewedoos are HIGHLY rated on Amazon with over 34,000 reviews. They are a bit thicker than the HeyNuts and Spanx, if you like a heavier feel. The thickness of the leggings helps smooth and sculpt, while helping you feel secure in your clothing. Love the high waist!
I use these strictly for activities that require lots of movement or at the ballpark with my boys, so the cell phone pocket is a MUST.
Ewedoos run around $25 - $35 depending on your selection and if they have a promotion going.
4. Aerie
OFFLINE by Aerie are super special. They are high waisted, but have a crossover detail at the waist that adds a little pizzaz. The fabric is lightweight, and they do not offer as much support as some of the leggings above. Their buttery softness makes up for their lack of support.
I wouldn’t recommend these for the gym, but they are perfect for errands or lunch out with the girls.
These typically run around $45.
5. Colorfulkoala
Here’s another legging that is just so incredibly soft, but have a little more silky feel to them. My Colorfulkoala’s may be the most comfy pair of leggings. I’ve honestly never worn Lulu before, but I’ve heard people compare these to the Wonder Under Lulu leggings. These are definitely a good value at around $22.
6. The Gym People
I love the waist band on my The Gym People leggings! I have these in a black leopard print that is subtle, but faaaancy too. The material is extremely stretchy, and they are a little less breathable than some of the others. It may be the pattern that I chose, because they have a shiny sheen coated on them.
There seems to be a little more fabric on these than the others as well. The compression isn’t as strong with these, but the thickness of the fabric helps smooth. I sized down and they fit perfectly. I would; however, recommend reading reviews to find similar measurements to yourself and what worked best for them!
The Gym People leggings run around $25.
