The Mom Bag - What To Put In Yours

If you've been anywhere outdoors in the past few months, I'm sure you've noticed a new trend. The mom bag has taken over ballparks, pools, beaches... pretty much every family outing. It took me .5 seconds to jump on the bandwagon, and I am so glad I did!

What Is The Mom Bag?

The mom bag is a universal bag made of EVA material that is waterproof and easy to clean and sanitize. So, basically, it can go anywhere.

There are many brands and sizes to choose from. I wasn't as concerned with the brand asI was with the size. I knew I wanted a large bag to hold all the family essentials, and let me tell you, my mom bag holds the essentials + more!

The boys actually gave me my bag for Mother's Day. They even chose the color, which I love! Being a boy mom has turned my favorite colors from pink and sparkles to any shade of blue. The brand I have is Simply Southern. It comes with a dry bag insert, and the straps are interchangeable (something other brands don't offer!).

What's In My Mom Bag?

I change some of the contents depending on where we are going. However, there are a few essentials I keep in my bag no matter what.

Dry pouch essentials:

  • Sunglasses

  • Hand sanitizing wipes

  • Phone charger

  • Scissors

  • Sharpie

  • First aid basics

  • Ponytail holders

  • Dollars for the ballpark

What Should You Put In Your Mom Bag?

First, you should decide what your essentials should be-- that is, the items you want to keep in your bag at all times. As you use you're out and about, you'll quickly find new items you realize you need to make essentials in your bag.

Once you have your essentials nailed out, what you put in your mom bag depends on where you are going! You can take your bag to dance, baseball, football, the beach, the pool, a picnic... literally anywhere you are going! You can even leave your bag in the car or your trunk, so you have the items just in case.

The opportunities are endless, and I absolutely love my mom bag. I don't know how I mom-ed without it!
