Ibotta Tips To Score Major Cash Back

For some, rebate apps seem too much work to save only a few cents. Over the years, Ibotta has definitely listened to it’s users and improved it’s processes for cash back.

I use three cash back apps— you can read about all three here.

Ibotta is by far my favorite and puts the most cash in my pocket!

Just this year, I have earned $239.15, with lifetime earnings of $742.86!!

What is Ibotta?

Ibotta is a rebate app that allows you to redeem rebates for cash back on every day purchases.

Personally, most of my rebates come from grocery items; however, you can get cash back on purchases made on 100+ commonly shopped websites.

I have a $37 rebate pending from a hotel stay during a family trip by booking through the Ibotta app.

Other websites that can be shopped through the app include: Expedia, Booking.com, Target, Academy Sports & Outdoor, Kohl’s, Old Navy, Nike…. and soooo many more!

New rebates and websites are added weekly!

Ibotta Tips To Score Major Cash Back

  1. Search for “any” offers

When looking through grocery offers at particular retailers, make sure to search for the word “any.” Retailers sometimes offer “any” offers for items, which means you don’t have to purchase a particular brand.

For instance, I redeemed an “any” offer for milk this week. It didn’t matter what brand I purchased, and I still received the cash back.

  2. Link accounts

I use WalMart grocery pickup almost weekly. If you have, you know you don’t receive a hard copy receipt.

You can still earn cash on these purchases by linking the email address you use for WalMart grocery pickup to the Ibotta app.

This is available for other retailers as well, like Publix, Target, etc.

  3. Make sure you select rebates before redeeming receipts

This is especially important if you are making a grocery order, like WalMart pickup, because you won’t receive a physical receipt. Before completing your order, scan through the app and make sure your rebates are selected so you get credit.

If you have a hard copy receipt, make sure you do the same thing before scanning the receipt. You just don’t have to worry about selecting them before you purchase.

  4. Use the Chrome browser extension

Ibotta has a Chrome browser extension that makes shopping and receiving cash back work seamlessly hand-in-hand.

Once you download the extension and sign-in, when you arrive to a website that has a rebate on Ibotta, the extension will tell you and allow you to activate the rebate without going through the app! Amazing.

It also works very nicely when preparing a WalMart grocery order on the computer. Once you add the items to your cart, the extension will show you if a rebate is offered, and if you have selected it or not!

  5. Take advantage of the bonuses

Small bonuses are often offered for buying a certain product in more than one grocery trip or buying multiple products that qualify for the bonus.

I completed a “sandwich bonus” this month by purchasing bacon, deli meat, and fully cooked bacon. I received the regular rebates offered for these items, plus $1.75 in bonuses.

Sometimes, BIG bonuses are offered too.

This month, I redeemed 20 rebates and received a $10 bonus!

  6. Stack with coupons

Whether you’re a full fledged couponer (I used to be!), or you just use them when you find a good one, they can be combined with Ibotta rebates.

After using a coupon in store or online, you can still use that receipt to receive cash back on the same items if they have offers in Ibotta.

Redeeming Your Cash Back On Ibotta

You can’t cash out until you have at least $20 stacked up, which doesn’t take long!

Ibotta offers cash back in many forms… including cash! Ibotta will send cash back straight to your PayPal account and even select bank accounts.

You can also redeem for gift cards at most of your favorite retailers and then some!
